Spring 2026 Semester 2, Course 15: Constructing Unit Plans
January 20th, 2026
This course equips educators with foundational principles and structures for unit planning, guiding the development of big ideas, essential questions, scope and sequence, standards alignment, and sourcing instructional materials. Candidates will learn to design coherent, purposeful units that connect student learning objectives (SLOs) to engaging learning experiences and appropriate assessments, using rubrics and a balance of formative and summative tools. Emphasis is placed on building aligned, equitable instructional units that meet the needs of all learners in the classroom.
