Welcome to Podcast 22: The Prevalence of Illicit Drug Additives Impacting the Opioid Epidemic in New Jersey and its Effect on the Community
 

This podcast is part of the NJ ODEP Program that will provide standardized, comprehensive, easily accessible, evidence-based education on best practices and current laws regarding opioids for professionals throughout the State. This pre-recorded podcast interview focuses on the prevalence of xylazine and desomorphine in illicit drug samples across New Jersey, hot spots, other emerging additives impacting the opioid epidemic, their relationship to fatal overdose, and related topics.

This module is designed to educate New Jersey Physicians; Podiatrists; Physician Assistants; Certified Nurse Midwives; Dentists; Advanced Practice Nurses; Social Workers; Psychologists; Marriage & Family Therapists; and Professional Counselors.

AVAILABLE CREDIT FOR PHYSICIANS: 0.50 AOA Category 1-B and 0.50 AMA PRA Category 1 credit™

AVAILABLE CREDIT FOR OTHER LISTED HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS: This recorded activity satisfies the statutory mandate that physician assistants, podiatrists, certified nurse midwives, nurses, psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, and marriage and family therapists obtain one 1/2 credit in continuing education programs concerning prescription opioid drugs as a condition of licensure renewal. Upon successful completion of the enduring recorded activity, participants will receive a certificate of completion, and should retain it in accordance with their relevant licensing board’s regulations.

To receive full credit, you must be present for the entire recorded podcast interview.

All listed health care professionals must complete the Knowledge Assessment to receive a certificate of completion.
