This podcast is part of the NJ ODEP Program that will provide standardized, comprehensive, easily accessible, evidence-based education on best practices and current laws regarding opioids for professionals throughout the State.This pre-recorded podcast interview focuses on alternatives to using opiates for individuals with non-cancer pain, the prevalence of buprenorphine abuse, misuse, and diversion, symptoms of buprenorphine use disorders, guidelines for safely withdrawing patients from buprenorphine/naloxone, including individuals wishing to taper from maintenance therapy, success rates, longitudinal outcomes, and related topics.

AVAILABLE CREDIT FOR OTHER HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS: This recorded activity satisfies the statutory mandate that physician assistants, podiatrists, certified nurse midwives, nurses, psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, and marriage and family therapists obtain one 1/2 credit in continuing education programs concerning prescription opioid drugs as a condition of licensure renewal. Upon successful completion of the enduring recorded activity, participants will receive a certificate of completion, and should retain it in accordance with their relevant licensing board’s regulations.

To receive full credit, you must be present for the entire recorded podcast interview. All listed health care professionals must complete the Post Assessment, Attestation Form, and Outcome Survey/Evaluation. Upon completion of these items, a certificate will be emailed out.
