Blood Pressure Screener Training Program
Learn to take a client's blood pressure and educate them on the result.
This 6-hour training will teach you how to accurately measure blood pressure and clearly explain the result to your client as you use basic coaching skills to help the client identify potential heart-healthy lifestyle changes.
Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a Blood Pressure Screener Certificate and, for Health and Exercise Science students, 6 Professional Development Hours (PDH).
How the Program Works
Once you have paid for the program, you’ll be enrolled in a Rowan Canvas shell that contains all course materials. From there, you can sign up for the live sessions you plan to attend; session options are listed in the first module.
The program requires attendance at two in-person, 2-hour sessions, along with homework assignments between sessions. All live sessions take place on the Rowan Glassboro campus in James Hall, first-floor Health and Exercise Science Conference Room. Sessions are offered Monday through Friday in the afternoon and early evening, with varying times to fit different schedules. The specific schedule is posted in the Canvas shell. If the listed times don’t work for you, contact us—we’ll arrange a time that allows you to participate in person.

You will receive your Blood Pressure Kit on the first night of the course. To earn your Certificate of Completion, you must pass both a written test and a practical skills assessment.

Pricing
$50.00 for Rowan students and staff; $80.00 for non-Rowan participants
