Full course description

Blood Pressure Screener Training Program

Hello students,

Would you like to earn the 6-hour Blood Pressure Screener certificate? It is $50 for Rowan students and staff.  Health and Exercise Science students will earn 6 professional development hours (PDH) for this course.  It’s offered live, in-person in the conference room of the Health and Exercise Science Department.  Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 8 students.

Knowing how to take a blood pressure and provide appropriate education to your client is a valuable skill for any health/wellness professional.

Here’s how the program works:

  • Register and pay for the course through the Rowan Online Professional Development system. Here is the link:  https://onlinepd.rowan.edu/courses/blood-pressure-screener-training-program
  • Once you have paid, you will be offered the chance to enroll in the Canvas shell for the course.  Sign up for the live sessions you plan to attend.  You will find the options in the first module in the shell.
  • You’ll come to two in-person 2-hour sessions for each course, with some homework in between.  The classes meet in the HES Conference room on the first floor of James Hall.
  • Sessions are offered Friday afternoon this semester.  Classes begin at 11 a.m. and end at 1 PM on the specific Fridays they are offered this semester (Spring 2026).   DON’T WAIT to sign up if you are interested; registration will close once the classes are full.  We are only accepting 16 participants this spring; we will open it up to more students in the fall.
  • There is a written quiz and a practical test for each course.  You need to pass both to receive your Certificate of Completion.
